Since 1996, he has worked as a painting teacher and professor at the Instituto Superior de Arte school and is a member of the Cuban Association for Artists and Writers (Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba - UNEAC).
Starting in 2001, when he presented the exhibition “Hecho a mano” (handmade), Luis Enrique Camejo has shown a preference for the urban atmosphere. Nevertheless, to subvert the photographic immediancy inherently shaping the city, he usually works with a single range of colors and using the lighting effects, creates strong contrasts as well. He rakes with powerful pencil strokes, revealing a turbulent reality and constant movement. The observer is inescapably drawn into this sense of motion.
