Luis Enrique Camejo graduated from the Instituto Superior de Arte school in Havana. He has presented solo exhibitions in Cuba, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United States and Mexico. He has also participated in diverse group exhibitions in the Netherlands, Ecuador, Spain, the United States, France, Lebanon, Germany, Switzerland, the Dominican Republic and Canada. Among the recognitions awarded to him are the mention he received at the Salón de Artes Plásticas de Pinar del Río (2002) and the First Prize in the V Painting Contest Certamen de Pintura Nicomedes García Gómez, in Segovia, Spain (2003). He has also participated at the VIII and IX Biennial in Havana (2003 and 2006). Since 1996, he has worked as a painting teacher and professor at the Instituto Superior de Arte school and is a member of the Cuban Association for Artists and Writers (Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba - UNEAC).

Starting in 2001, when he presented the exhibition “Hecho a mano” (handmade), Luis Enrique Camejo has shown a preference for the urban atmosphere. Nevertheless, to subvert the photographic immediancy inherently shaping the city, he usually works with a single range of colors and using the lighting effects, creates strong contrasts as well. He rakes with powerful pencil strokes, revealing a turbulent reality and constant movement. The observer is inescapably drawn into this sense of motion.
