ENLACE ARTE CONTEMPORÁNEO Gallery (Av. Pardo y Aliaga 676, San Isidro) announces the opening of the solo exhibition NATURALEZA ATRAPADA EN SU TIEMPO by WILLIAM PINILLOS from Trujillo, this May 27. On this occasion, Pinillos has prepared sixteen works, including oils and drawings on canvas, medium and large in size, into which he pours a series of experiences/revelations that, according to him, he is unable to understand or “specify,” and that he has only begun to discover thanks to his recent life experience. These sensations/revelations lend their name to the exhibition, offering a first look at and approximation to this new stage of the artist and his work, marked by an imaginary full of emotion, unpolluted by all logical reasoning…" A good action is worth more than many reasons.” (William Pinillos). William Pinillos (Trujillo, Peru, 1964) is a graduate of the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes “Macedonio de la Torre” (Trujillo). He held his first solo show in 1994, and has exhibited at important galleries in Panama, Puerto Rico, Belgium, Ecuador, the United States, Venezuela, Chile, and Spain. His work, which has won him important awards, has been shown in group and solo shows, as well as at numerous national and international events. He is currently represented in Panama by Galería Habitante and by Arthus Gallery in Belgium. Of his previous works, the following has been written: “In the fantasy world of William Pinillos, a fascinating gallery of figures cavorts in a whimsical landscape that defies logic and the laws of gravity. As these figures dance and frolic in their impossible world, a fairy tale emerges that exceeds everything imaginable, providing few keys to the true story. Pinillos enjoys creating things taken from real life that do not exist in reality, a strange world that plays out, where everything has its place and only he knows what happened to put it there. Pinillos has been exhibiting greater care in the playful games of his figures, who now express greater movement. … In his current production, we may observe a painter in transit, in mid-search, with propositions formulated in his previous works that have led him to new visual experiences. Still present are his enigmatic atmospheres, the concealed sensuality, a complicitous gaze, a delicacy and order in a universe that is all his own.
