ENLACE ARTE CONTEMPORÁNEO Gallery (Av. Pardo y Aliaga 676, San Isidro) announces the opening of the solo painting exhibition RAFAEL LLAQUE by RAFAEL LLAQUE on August 16, at 7.30 p.m. The artist will be present. Of his work, respected critics have said: “(…) Llaque has created, from the very beginning of his career, a simple oeuvre far from references to -isms or groups. His still lifes or landscapes have never pretended to be a faithful representation of a recognizable reality or a search for metaphysical allusions. They have been merely elements of an extended and exploratory work with the pictorial medium, a search on the trail of subtlety and illusion in the combination of expression, intent, and effect. Accordingly, the use of color is also subjected to the dictates of an exploration rather than an exaltation. (…) A spontaneous sensuality emerges from a medium where the forms contain, without enslaving, the density of an element that the artist succeeds in dominating with supple skill.” (Elida Román). “(…) the main characteristic of Llaque’s work is the rigorous organization of his compositions based on rectangular planes of form and content. The objects appear to be smooth, or by contrast, lit up with a balanced cerulean blue, as if asking the spectator to make a small additional effort to better savor their discovery.” (Jorge Bernuy). This exhibition is organized with the support of TRAPICHE Argentina and may be viewed through September 8, 2012, from Monday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. No entry fee.
