JORGE MIÑO is a major reference point and a rising artist in contemporary photography. Most notable among his exhibitions are: solo project at Foto Madrid, “El futuro es hoy” (“The Future is Now”) (2012); and “Descanso del silencio” (“Silence at Rest”), Galería Moro, Santiago, Chile (2010). In 2009: “Diferentes futuros” (“Different Futures”), Galería Ernesto Catena Fotografía Contemporánea; at the Museo de Arquitectura, the show Formas Propias (“Shapes of Their Own”), Buenos Aires, Argentina; in 2007, Piezas únicas (“One-of-a-Kind Pieces”), at the Galería Ernesto Catena Fotografía Contemporánea, Buenos Aires, Argentina. His work has appeared in a variety of group exhibitions at major galleries and cultural centers in Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, the United States, and Holland. Recognitions received include the prize and scholarship from the Fondo Nacional de las Artes (2011); third prize, contest organized by Banco Itau Argentina (2010); first prize in the Salón Nacional de Rosario, Provinceof Santa Fe, Museo Castagnino Argentina (2007); second prize in Fotografía y Ciencia, C. C. Recoleta, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2006); among others. He currently lives and works in Buenos Aires.
