(b. 1994, Venezuela) Isabella Despujols is an up-and-coming artist who graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from the International University of Art and Design in Miami, as well as holding a degree in Art History from the University of Palermo in Buenos Aires. The artist finds inspiration to create from her upbringing: as the daughter of two architects, she is very familiar with the geometric patterns that form her work. She also draws from great Venezuelan masters like Jesús Soto and Carlos Cruz-Diez. She then creates these shapes using traditional embroidering techniques which have been passed through the feminine side of her family for generations. Despujols uses thread the way she used to use oil paints while studying Fine Arts, creating paintings out of the manual work. At only 28 years of age, Despujols has exhibited in important group and solo shows worldwide, including: Art Madrid (2022) with the Brazilian gallery Jackie Shor Arte, and "Geometria Bordada" at Garaje Lola Space, Madrid, Spain (2021), respectively.
